Made with Jasmine Rice, canned peas with mushrooms and pearl onions and Texas Pete! This Spicy Mushroom Pea Rice side dish is ready in less than 5 minutes.

  • 1 (8.5 ounce) bag Ben’s Original Ready Rice Jasmine Rice
  • 1 (15 ounce can) Le Sueur Very Young Small Sweet Peas with Mushrooms & Pearl Onions
  • 4 tablespoons Texas Pete Hot Sauce


  1. Mash the bag of Jasmine Rice with your hands to break up the rice inside.
  2. Tear open the top of the Ready Rice bag and place into the microwave for 90 seconds.
  3. Pour rice into a microwave safe bowl.
  4. Open can of Le Sueur Very Young Small Sweet Peas with Mushrooms & Pearl Onions and pour over rice.
  5. Microwave for 1 minute.
  6. Stir in Texas Pete and serve.


Depending on how much hot sauce you like, you might want to start with 2 tablespoons and work up to how much you want.

You can also just use canned peas if you don't want the mushrooms and pearl onions.
