Which Brands Did I Use For These Popcorn Bunny Bait?
Sometimes when it comes to Semihomemade recipe that use packaged foods to create meals, the brands of items can make or break a dish. I don’t think this ALWAYS happens but I do know that not all packaged items are created equally.
White candy melts – I used the Melt Craft™ Vanilla Candy Wafers from Miachels
Light blue candy melts – I used the Melt Craft™ Candy Wafers from Miachels
Popcorn – I used Jolly Time Yellow Popcorn Kernels and popped them on the stove.
Mini Pretzels – I used Snyders.
Pastel-colored candies – I used used pastel chocolate candies from the Dollar Tree but Easter M&M candies work great!
Jelly Beans – Your favorite brand will work. I’ve used Jelly Belly jelly beans and Dollar Tree jelly beans.
Peeps Gummy Candies – I found these at Dollar Tree. If you can’t find those you could also just cut up some marshmallow Peeps.

How To Make Easy Popcorn Bunny Bait Snack Mix:
-
Pop the popcorn and lay it out on a parchment-lined baking sheet / cookie sheet.
Parchment paper will make it easy to lift and break apart after it dries.
Pick out any unpopped kernels, you don’t want those to end up in the bunny bait.

-
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
-
Pour the melted candy melts all over the popcorn.
-
Use tongs to toss and stir the popcorn and white candy melts together. It will be sticky but just take a minute or so to mix it around.
Spread the coated popcorn it into a single layer.
-
Add the mini pretzels, gummies, and M&M’s over the popcorn.

-
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the light blue candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
-
Drizzle over the popcorn mixture.

-
Sprinkle your Easter sprinkles over the top while the chocolate is still wet.
-
Let it set for about 15 minutes or until dry, then break it into chunks and serve!
You can leave it at room temperature to harden or pop it into the fridge.
Tips & Ideas
- Turn it into individual snack bags with cellophane and ribbon for party favors or Easter basket fillers.

Make It Ahead
Bunny Bait can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days—if it lasts that long! Keep it cool and dry so the chocolate doesn’t melt.
