These Bird Nest Easter Brownies are so easy to make and I love that this recipe is a semi homemade recipe! We all know that holiday meals, like Easter, take a lot of work and sometimes an easy dessert is just what we need to pull the meal together.

    • water
    • oil
    • egg
    • cream cheese frosting

How to make Bird Nest Easter Brownies:

Plain Brown Squares on white base

We’re making these cute little Easter brownies semi-homemade which is why I’m using a boxed brownie mix for this post. But Feel free to use my homemade brownie recipe and homemade cream cheese frosting for these!

Preheat oven to 350F. In a bowl combine the brownie mix, water, oil and egg. Mix well. Line a 8×8 pan with foil or parchment paper. Lining the pan with parchment or foil will make it easier to lift the cooled brownies out of the pan so that they can be cut easier.

Bake brownies for 30 minutes or until done. Leave them in the pan and let them cool completely. Make sure these brownies are completely cool before you start to decorate them or they will melt the frosting into a big mess.

Once the brownies are cooled and it’s time to decorat:

Fill a piping back with a M1 Open Star Decorating Tip.  Frosting the brownies with a back and forth motion while applying pressure to the piping bag until entire brownie is covered.

Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of toasted coconut onto frosting to make a “bird nest”.

To make toasted coconut: Pour sweetened coconut into a skillet set on medium heat. Stir and toast for 10-15 minutes until most of coconut is toasted. Remove from and let cool.
