These spooky Chocolate Nutella Skulls are rich, creamy, and made with just two simple ingredients, chocolate and Nutella! Perfect for Halloween parties or dessert boards, they’re an easy no-bake treat that looks frightfully impressive.

If you love spooky treats that are secretly simple, these Chocolate Nutella Skulls are going to be your new Halloween favorite! They look fancy and ghoulishly cool, but they’re actually made with just two ingredients … chocolate melting wafers and creamy Nutella.
They’re perfect for Halloween parties, dessert boards, or as a sweet little gift for your favorite ghoul friend. Each skull is rich, smooth, and filled with that irresistible hazelnut-chocolate flavor inside a chocolate shell.
If you’re hosting a Halloween party or setting up a themed dessert table, these skulls are perfect little bites to fill in empty spots. Arrange them on a black serving tray with candy eyeballs, gummy worms, or a sprinkle of cookie crumbs to look like “grave dirt.”
Just REMEMBER that Nutella is made of NUTS so please let guest know.
I used these ice molds for this recipe.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Only two ingredients! You just need chocolate and Nutella… it doesn’t get easier than that.
- Perfectly spooky. Skull-shaped chocolates look impressive without a ton of effort.
- Make-ahead friendly. You can prep them the day before your party and keep them chilled.
- Customizable. Use milk, dark, or semi-sweet chocolate candy melts or even white candy melts if you want “ghostly” skulls!
- Rich & creamy center. That smooth Nutella filling gives each bite a melt-in-your-mouth finish.

Ingredients For Chocolate Nutella Skulls :
- 1 ½ cups chocolate melting wafers (milk, semi-sweet, or dark)
- ½ cup Nutella spread
Ingredient amounts and entire recipe directions in recipe card below with print option!
How To Make Chocolate Nutella Skulls:
- Prepare the molds
Make sure your skull candy molds are clean and completely dry
- Melt the candy melts
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the melting wafers in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy.
- Create the skull shells
Spoon a little melted chocolate into each skull cavity. Use a food-safe brush or small spoon to coat the entire inside. Tap the mold gently to remove air bubbles.
Chill for 10–15 minutes, or until firm.
If you want a stronger shell, repeat with a second thin layer and chill again. - Fill with Nutella
Spoon or pipe Nutella into each chocolate shell, leaving a bit of space at the top.
Chill for 10–15 minutes so the filling can firm up slightly. - Seal the skulls
Reheat any remaining melted chocolate, then spoon or spread a thin layer over the Nutella to seal. Smooth the tops and refrigerate until fully set — about 30 minutes.
- Unmold & decorate
Gently pop the skulls out of the mold.
You can leave them as-is or add a dusting of edible shimmer or luster dust
Suggestions:
- If your kitchen is warm, store them in the fridge until serving.
- For extra drama, make a mix of white and dark chocolate skulls.
- Want a flavor twist? Add a little peanut butter, cookie butter, or caramel in place of Nutella.
- These also look great on a Halloween dessert board with candy eyeballs and mini cookies!
