Which Brands Did I Use For These Teriyaki Chicken Foil Packets?
Sometimes when it comes to Semihomemade recipe that use packaged foods to create meals, the brands of items can make or break a dish. I don’t think this ALWAYS happens but I do know that not all packaged items are created equally.
Frozen Popcorn Chicken – I love to use the Tyson Any’tizers Popcorn Chicken for this recipe and my General Tso’s Chicken.
BBQ Sauce – Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce – if you don’t want the sauce to be super sweet, use a plain BBQ sauce instead of a sweet one.
Orange Marmalade – Smucker’s Sweet Orange Marmalade*
You can make a simple Orange chicken sauce with soy sauce, orange juice, orange zest, ginger and garlic powder but we’re doing “super super easy” with this recipe.
I may share that sauce recipe soon… let me know if you’d like it!

What Do I Serve With Sweet BBQ Orange Chicken?
Now it’s time for some delicious sides.
A fresh, crisp salad with a tangy dressing is always a great choice, as it adds a contrasting texture and flavor to the juicy chicken. A classic baked potato with all the toppings is another side dish that will leave your taste buds satisfied.
For a more unique twist, try roasting some seasonal vegetables like carrots, Brussels sprouts, or sweet potatoes. The natural sweetness of the veggies will pair perfectly with the tangy and flavorful chicken. And if you’re feeling particularly indulgent, whip up a batch of garlic bread or cornbread.
This dish is also perfect over rice!
Can We Make This NOT So Sweet?
Absolutory! I used Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce for this recipe so that made it pretty sweet. However, if you choose a BBQ sauce that isn’t already sweet, you’ll find that the BBQ sauce will help cut down on the sweetness.
How To Store Orange Chicken:
You can store this in the fridge in an airtight container for about 2-3 days. The chicken will soak up the sauce as it sit in the fridge so you may want to make another batch of sauce to stir with the reheat chicken.
