These hauntingly delicious Eyeball Oreos are the perfect spooky cookie for any Halloween or spooky-themed party.

Who doesn’t love a classic Oreo cookie? With its creamy filling and chocolate wafer exterior, it’s been a beloved snack for generations. But we’re going to give them a little Halloween twist!
Yep, I’m talking about Eyeball Oreos. They’re quick and easy to make plus they look great for Halloween! You don’t really need any baking skills either to master these treats!
And with over 217 million pounds of Oreos sold in the US alone each year, it’s safe to say that these eyeball-filled treats will be a hit. That’s A LOT of Oreo Eyeballs for Halloween!
Ingredients For Eyeball Oreos:

Which Brands Did I Use For These Eyeball Oreos?
Sometimes when it comes to Semihomemade recipe that use packaged foods to create meals, the brands of items can make or break a dish. I don’t think this ALWAYS happens but I do know that not all packaged items are created equally.
Sandwich Cookies– I used OREO brand cookies but you can use any round sandwich cookie.
Vanilla candy coating – When it comes to candy melts, I really like to use the Make and Mold candy wafers from Amazon or Hobby Lobby. I’ve tried some other brand names that just don’t melt well and I don’t like to waste money with unusable candy melts. I also like to use Almond Bark from Walmart or Food Lion if I’m just making something with chocolate or vanilla.
Candy Eyes – I found these at Walmart but you can use any kind of candy eye. You can find tons of candy eyes on Amazon too.
How To Make Eyeball Oreos:
-
Melt white candy melts according to package directions.
-
Dip cookies into candy coating and coat all sides.

-
Place on a piece of parchment paper.

-
While candy melts are still wet, add a candy eye to the center of each cookie.

-
Let the white candy melts harden.

-
Melt red candy melts according to package directions.
-
Use red candy melts and a toothpick to draw on “bloodshot” swiggly lines.

-
Let treats sit, undisturbed, for about 30 minutes to harden.

HELP! I Can’t Find Red Candy Melts!
If you can’t find the right color or need something quick, use either the Great Value Almond Bark (don’t worry there are no nuts in it!) or the Food Lion Candy Coating and color it with Oil Based Food Coloring for Chocolate.
You can find this on Amazon as well or in stores like Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Michaels.
Make sure that you’re using OIL BASED food coloring with working with chocolate or candy melts. You can not use regular food coloring to color them because those are water based. If you mix water based food coloring with chocolate or candy melts, the chocolate/candy will seize up and turn into a gloopy, crusty mess.
I Can’t Find Candy Eyes!
I’ve seen candy eyes on Amazon and at Dollar Tree and at Dollar General this year.
You could also try your hand at making homemade royal icing faces. I need to make a tutorial for that, but until then, you can google “How to Make Royal Icing Transfers” and you’ll find lots of helpful options!
Can I Make These In Advance?
Yes! You can make these up to a week in advance and keep them at room temperature in an airtight container.
